Our customer, one of the leading Telematics data aggregators for commercial vehicles, wants us to rate their vehicle and driver performance based on the transport routes they have taken for better decision-making on performance efficiency and safety
Challenges Faced:
● Trip measurement in CAN feed data was based on engine start and stop, which did not represent real world transport trip
Decision intelligence
● Trip measured based on actual transport routes instead of engine start and stop
● Transport routes calculated based on length of break in between trips and direction of travel as derived features
● Country map was categorised into transport zones based on configurable zone size
● Vehicles travelled in the same transport zones are compared for rating/ranking
● Status reported back into the user dashboard for monitoring
Outcome delivered
● Easily comprehensible rating system based on real world transport trips
● Business centric (transport routes) ratings and metrics rather than vehicle centric (start and stop) - enabled
● Actionable insights such as
● Hot transport zones and high traffic areas
● Recommended day and time of travel for better, faster and efficient transport
● Refuelling points on the transport route with fuel quality indicator
● Visible fleet demand zones for better business focus
